BlushTones is looking for those dedicated to a career in makeup artistry who would love to grow with our company. We are a group of artists that welcome collaboration, teamwork, and being each others hype squad! Here at BlushTones we service EVERYONE no matter their ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or anything that makes our clients unique. Our new artists should enjoy collaborating with others, have strong written and verbal communication skills, be open to learning new techniques, have the ability to be flexible, have strong problem solving skills, understand sanitation procedures, and have a reliable form of transportation!
This 1099-contractor artist position is perfect for those with busy schedules who want to earn some extra income without the commitment of full-time work! You would be in control of your schedule and work only when you want to work. You would be mainly used when we need a second artist for larger parties or when all of our full-time artists are already booked! This position allows you to work for our team, other teams in the area, and for yourself! You would not be an exclusive BlushTones artist.
What?
We are looking for artists who have prior experience applying makeup professionally on paying clients. There is no set amount of experience required!
WHo?
While we would love for you to be local to Hampton Roads, we are looking at applicants from the Outer Banks all the way up to northern Virginia! This position will require traveling up to 2 hours away (required) and the opportunity to travel with us on overnight stays for weddings (optional). Travel compensation is included.
Where?
This position is "as-needed". We require you to be available at least 2 Saturdays available per month and be willing to work on some Sundays. This does not mean you will work every weekend! Weekday availability is a plus but is not required. You can expect to start work around 7:00-9:00am and end around 1:00-3:00 for weddings on Saturdays and some Sundays.
When?
Our part-time artists earn 60% on all services. You also receive 100% of any additional service fees such as travel and early start time fees! You will be paid the same day you complete services!

As a full-time artist, you would be given priority bookings over our part-time artists! BlushTones fields inquiries for you, but you would be responsible for sending contracts, communicating, and scheduling with booked clients.
This position does require you to be an exclusive BlushTones artist where every client would be serviced through us. This allows us to give you TONS of perks that you can browse below!
What?
BlushTones is looking for a committed artist looking for a career as a makeup artist- not just a side hustle! We are ready to commit ourselves to the newest BlushTones artist and help them grow into the artist of their dreams! You should have 1-2 years of experience applying makeup professionally on paying clients.
WHo?
While we would love for you to be local to Hampton Roads, we are looking at applicants from the Outer Banks all the way up to Richmond! This position will require traveling up to 2 hours away as well as travel 2+ hours away for overnight stays for weddings (travel compensation included). You must be open to traveling to our studio in Virginia Beach for previews for our brides.

We require you to be available on Saturdays, some Sundays, and some weekdays. This does not mean you will work every weekend unless that's your preference! You can expect to start work around 7:00-9:00am and end around 1:00-3:00 for weddings on Saturdays and some Sundays. On weekdays, we normally don't schedule appointments after 4:00. Weekdays availability is flexible!
When?
Our full-time artists start earning 65% commission on all services with the opportunity for promotion! We're happy to offer a higher commission than what is standard! You will also receive 100% of any additional service fees such as travel and early start time fees. You will be paid the same day you complete services!
